Following recommendations were Proposed in the Seminar and were approved by the house:

  1. General awareness is required for all users of Electricity in the safety perspective of Electrical energy operated devices and systems.  Special attention be paid  to:
    • Grounding of equipment and the entire system.
    • Protection of personnel and equipment against shock and fire hazards.
  2. Design of Electrical distribution system should cover all aspects of safety related to classified and non-classified areas.
  3. S.O.Ps be developed and make handy to every user and worker connected with operation and maintenance of Electrical equipment.
  4. Training courses be conducted in Industries and institutions relating to this very important aspect of human safety from Electrical shock  and consequential damages due to fires.
  5. Medical aids and procedures be practiced to every worker in factories and Industries in order to handle any emergency pertaining to Electrical shock and fires.
  6. Standardized procedures, tools and equipment be used for any maintenances , repair and modifications of Electrical Switchgears ..
  7. Regular analysis be made of  safety at Job and week areas be identified for rectification by concerned departments.
  8. A few Solid state protection devices have fair potential to replace the conventional electromechanical circuit breakers, provided the cost factor is compromised. Necessary research and development work in this field must be appreciated and supported by the Government.
